Contraband Arrests at Wilcox and Calhoun State Prisons
On February 25, Visitor Asia Ballard arrived at Wilcox State Prison for visitation, when the Portal Sergeant detected the smell of marijuana. Visitor Ballard consented to a search of her person and two bundles of marijuana weighing 237 grams were found. Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office arrested her.
On February 25, visitor Preccilla Jones entered Calhoun State Prison for visitation. While taking pictures during visitation, a supervisor observed Visitor Jones pass a small white bundle behind her back to an inmate. The supervisor confiscated the contraband, which is suspected to be marijuana weighing 29.7 grams. After a consented search of her person, no additional contraband was found. Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office arrested visitor Jones.
