Contraband Arrests at Rogers and Wilcox State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 780 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
  1. On December 1, at Rogers State Prison food service employee Leslie Drew was arrested by the Tattnall County Sherriff’s Department after she was found to be in possession of a total of 16.8 oz. of tobacco and 3.5 oz. of marijuana on her person and inside her vehicle. 
  2. On December 2, at Wilcox State Prison a K-9 search of all vehicles on state property was conducted. McRae was subsequently arrested by the Wilcox County Sheriff's Department after he was found to have 17 small bags of marijuana in his personal vehicle. 

The Department of Corrections is committed to identifying and pursuing prosecution of those persons who attempt to introduce contraband into state facilities.
