Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

As of 7/2010, we've made 1,133 contraband arrests

On January 10, while on post at the Ware State Prison tower, an Officer observed a civilian running towards the fence. He was observed attempting to throw over contraband. The Officer notified the Perimeter Officer and she responded immediately. The Perimeter Officer gave the civilian directions to get on the ground and he complied. Ware County Sheriff Department arrived and arrested civilian Lafayette Reeves. The following contraband was discovered, wrapped in gray duct tape: 18 Cell Phones, 4 Cell phone batteries, 8 Cell phone chargers, 4 USB cables, 205 grams of Tobacco, and 7 bags of Buglar Tobacco.

On January 14, at Telfair State Prison, the GDC Canine Unit searched Visitor Katylin Wiley’s vehicle and found one pill that tested positive for Ecstasy and 2 small marijuana cigarettes. Visitor Wiley was arrested by the Institutional Investigator and escorted to Tattnall County Jail by the Tattnall County Sheriff's Office.

On January 14, at Johnson State Prison, Johnson County Sheriff's Office arrested Visitor Lillie Mae Watson after the GDC Canine Unit searched her vehicle and found 605 grams of marijuana and 2 bottles of wine.

On January 14, Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a suspicious vehicle on Highway 178 near Rogers State Prison. There were four civilian occupants in the vehicle: Christy Greenwood, Dusty Greenwood, Casey Boone and Donald Boone. The driver of the vehicle consented to a search and 6 packages containing contraband were discovered underneath the front passenger floorboard. The packages consisted of 178 bundles of loose tobacco. The four civilians were arrested by Tattnall County Sheriffs Office.

On January 15, during a supervised search of vehicles entering Georgia State Prison, the GDC Canine Unit alerted on a vehicle that was driven by visitor Jaime Thompson. Tattnall County Sheriff's Office arrested visitor Thompson after the canine unit searched her vehicle and found 2.1 grams of THC (marijuana).

On January 15, during a supervised search of vehicles entering Georgia State Prison, the GDC Canine Unit alerted on a vehicle that was driven by visitor Janie Ann Rick. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a small amount of marijuana located inside of the center console. Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office arrested visitor Rick.

On January 15, during a supervised search of vehicles entering Georgia State Prison, the GDC Canine Unit alerted on a vehicle that was driven by visitor Erica Bullock. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered 1.7 grams of marijuana located inside of the floorboard. Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office arrested visitor Bullock.
