Contraband Arrests at Autry and Rogers State Prisons

MORE THAN 829 CIVILIANS, 211 STAFF ARRESTED TO DATE

On May 29, at Autry State Prison, the Deputy Warden of Security reported that Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office arrested Visitor Kristie Henderson after she was observed passing an inmate a small balloon that contained marijuana during visitation.  

On May 30, civilians Leonard Browner and Germarkus Brown were arrested by Tattnall County Sheriff's Office after they were stopped due to suspicious activity. After patrolling the area, officers discovered a black bag containing contraband underneath a bus near the Walker Nursery at Rogers State Prison.  The bag consisted of 55 packs of Bugler tobacco, two flip cell phones, two cell phone chargers, two cell phone batteries, one box of sandwich bags and one box of black trash bags.

The Department of Corrections is committed to identifying and pursuing prosecution of those persons who attempt to introduce contraband into state facilities.
