Contraband Arrest at Dooly State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 985 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On September 16, a Sergeant observed Visitor Debbie Moon drop a suspicious object in a chip bag during her visit with an offender at Dooly State Prison. The Sergeant confiscated a small bundle of what appeared to be methamphetamine wrapped in plastic and black electrical tape from the offender. Visitor Moon consented to a search of her person, and four additional packages of contraband were discovered. Three of the packages contained what appeared to be tetrahydrocannabinol (thc) and one package appeared to be tobacco. All packages were wrapped in plastic and black electrical tape. Visitor Moon was placed under arrest by Dooly County Sheriff's Office.
