On September 7, at Baldwin State Prison, Officer Gregory Becham abandoned his post at the Food Distribution Unit to go to the store. After he returned to his detail, Officer Becham was escorted back to the facility by the Captain. A search was conducted by a GDC Special Agent and the following contraband was discovered inside a lunch bag: 3 packs of dipping tobacco, 3 packs of cigarettes, and 2 cellular phones. He was arrested by the Milledgeville Police Department and charged with introduction of contraband on state property, violation of oath of office, and trading with offenders without consent.
