Contraband Arrests at GDC Facilities

On Thursday, August 26th, Correctional Officer Devyn Maddox was arrested by the Macon County Sheriff�s Department for attempting to smuggle marijuana and cigarette tobacco into Macon State Prison in Oglethorpe. The drugs and contraband were found when Maddox arrived at work and attempted to pass through the metal detector. As of August 1, 2010, Macon State Prison is a tobacco-free facility. The Department of Corrections is committed to identifying and pursuing prosecution of those persons who attempt to introduce contraband into state facilities.
