Contraband Arrests at GDC Facilities

**MORE THAN 792 CIVILIANS AND 195 STAFF MEMBERS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED TO DATE FOR ATTEMPTING TO INTRODUCE CONTRABAND INTO GDC FACILITIES.**

  1. On September 5, at Montgomery State Prison, visitor Melissa Hagins was arrested by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies after she dropped off a package containing 15 packs of tobacco at the chicken houses located on Montgomery State Prison premises. The drop was made prior to her coming into the facility for visitation.

The Department of Corrections is committed to identifying and pursuing prosecution of those persons who attempt to introduce contraband into state facilities.
