As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 736 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On May 20, at Georgia State Prison a search was conducted of Correctional Officer Diasha Chatman’s vehicle. Inside her vehicle 175 grams (5.5 ounces) of tobacco and two packs of rolling papers wrapped in plastic and black electrical tape were recovered.
