Contraband Arrests at GDC Facilities
**MORE THAN 627 CIVILIANS AND 119 STAFF MEMBERS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED TO DATE FOR ATTEMPTING TO INTRODUCE CONTRABAND INTO GDC FACILITIES.**
1) On August 11, 2013 at Johnson State Prison, an inmate was observed by a control room officer accepting contraband from visitor Courtney Carter. Two oz. of marijuana was found on the inmate. Carter was arrested by the Johnson County Sheriff's office.
The Department of Corrections is committed to identifying and pursuing prosecution of those persons who attempt to introduce contraband into state facilities.
