Contraband Arrests at GDC Facilities
**MORE THAN 516 CIVILIANS AND 92 STAFF MEMBERS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED TO DATE FOR ATTEMPTING TO INTRODUCE CONTRABAND INTO GDC FACILITIES.**
1) On October 21, 2012, Visitor Candice Hicks visited an inmate at the Georgia Diagnostic & Classification Prison. An officer noticed that Visitor Hicks coming from the designated employee smoking area. The officer searched the area and found a brown paper bag containing about an ounce of marijuana. Visitor Hicks was arrested and transported to the Butts County Jail.
