FORSYTH, Ga. – Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Bill Brown to Campus Superintendent of Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Headquarters, effective October 1, 2017. Brown will be responsible for the coordination of full service facilities management for the GDC headquarters and training academy located in Forsyth, GA.

“Brown has extensive management experience in construction, manufacturing, facilities maintenance, and customer service,” said Commissioner Dozier. “He is a valuable member of the GDC team and we know he will lead effectively in his new role as Campus Superintendent.”

Brown began his career with GDC in 2013 as a Building and Construction Trades Specialist at Headquarters and was promoted to Maintenance Engineer in 2015. Brown’s prior maintenance experience includes a tour as a contractor in Iraq, managing facilities maintenance and public works at a large US military base.

The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 52,000 state prisoners. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 10,500 employees.
