Execution Date Set for Lumpkin County Murderer
Steven Frederick Spears to be executed on November 16
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Lumpkin County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Steven Frederick Spears. The court ordered the Georgia Department of Corrections to carry out the execution on a date between November 16-23, 2016. Commissioner Homer Bryson has set the date for Wednesday, November 16, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7 p.m.
Steven Frederick Spears was convicted in 2007 for the murder of Sherri Holland. If executed, Spears will be the 45th inmate put to death by lethal injection.
