Risk Reduction Services

Risk Reduction Services is a unit within the Georgia Department of Corrections mandated to reduce recidivism by providing research-based programs. It includes cognitive-behavioral programming, counseling unit, data operations unit, research, evaluation, and assessment development unit, and substance abuse. It includes the counseling/cognitive-behavioral programming unit, research, evaluation, and assessment development unit (READ), and substance abuse programming unit. 


The Georgia Department of Corrections protects the public by operating safe and secure facilities through the development of professional staff and effective offender management.
